Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the very ancient practice of inserting and manipulating filamentous needles. These needles are inserted into specific acupuncture points based on a patient’s constitution and condition at the time of the treatment for curative purposes. The scope of acupuncture is quite wide, it’s commonly thought of only to be useful for pain; however, acupuncture has come a long way over the past 2500 years it’s been around and has been successfully used for cases of hypo/hyperthyroidism, fibromyalgia, vertigo, sciatica, HIV, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, TMJ, edema, anxiety and depression, just to name a few.

Mei Zen (Cosmetic Acupuncture)

Mei Zen is a form of cosmetic acupuncture that is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. It would make sense that to treat your skin, the largest organ of the body, the healing starts from within. Traditional Chinese medicine improves your health and energy whilst also having the added benefit of turning back the clock on aging. Think of this way: you’ll feel good, have more energy and look radiant all in one. Cosmetic Acupuncture is an alternative to potentially dangerous and more invasive treatment methods for aging. The results are much more subtle and naturally than your traditional face lift.

Chinese Herbs

Chinese Herbology is the process of using medicinal herbs extracted from numerous sources including: plants, animals, fungi, bone and minerals. Chinese Herbology is an art of combining the right ingredients for a particularly ailment specific to each and every patient. For Example, if you get a migraine in the western realm of medicine you’ve most likely been advised by your doctor to take Excedrin or some other NSAIDs. That’s great, but what about the next time you get a migraine? Of course, you’ll take another dose of Excedrin. Why did you get the migraine again? What caused it? Why you? Why do some people just suffer from migraines? In the realm of Chinese Medicine we look deeper, there isn’t just one formula that your practitioner will prescribe to every Tom, Dick and Harry that gets a migraine, but he/she will ascertain the root and cause of the migraine and heal you from the inside out. The goal is to get rid of your ailment completely and not just treat your symptom.

Cupping

Cupping is the process of using tempered glass cups and fire to create a vacuum on the skin and then they either kept in place or moved to increase local blood circulation, open the meridians of qi/energy, lymphatic drainage, improving the immune system and much more! The cups create a “hickee-like” mark on the skin that disappears after a few days to a week depending on how much stagnation or stuck “stuff” you had.

Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular Acupuncture uses the idea that the ear contains a micro system within it and our entire human body is mirrored in a particular part of the auricle of the ear or in simpler terms the outer portion of our ear. Using this knowledge the practitioner will place a needle, tac or crystal on a particular point on the ear and manipulate it accordingly. The point(s) chosen are based upon the knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine and pattern differentiation. In addition, over the years numerous protocols have been formulated for specific ailments; one of the more common ones is the NADA protocol used successfully as an adjunct therapy to treat substance abuse.

Tui Na

Tui Na is a form of ancient manipulative therapy used in conjunction with other modalities that fall under the umbrella of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Tui Na is different from other modes of body work in that it is based on the principles of qiyin, yang, qi and blood flow which controls the type of treatment is conducted. The use of Tui Na manipulates both the tissues and bones in a way that prevents the reoccurrence of pain.

Tui Na increases the flow of blood, qi (energy), lymphatic flow and serves as an adjunct therapy to bring the bodies imbalances back to homeostasis. English translation: when you have something out of balance you have disease when we bring it back into balance things are back to normal (homeostasis).
